Pumpkin Dessert Recipe
This pumpkin dessert is exceptionally delicious for fall, and nobody will believe how easy it is to make. A co-worker always brought this to the potlucks we had at work and I finally asked her for the recipe.
My family loves this dessert, and it makes the house smell absolutely scrumptious!
1 (15 oz.) can pumpkin puree
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 cup white sugar
1 package yellow cake mix
3/4 cup melted butter
Optional: 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13″ baking dish.
Combine pumpkin, evaporated milk, spice, eggs, and sugar in a large bowl. Mix well. Pour into the baking dish.
Sprinkle the cake mix (dry) over this mixture. Drizzle the melted butter over the top. Add walnuts, if desired.
Bake for 1 hour. Insert a knife in the center; your dessert is finished baking if it comes out clean.
Let it cool for at least an hour. Serve with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on top for extra goodness. Enjoy with a nice, hot cup of your favorite tea to warm your insides this autumn!
